A volunteer Board of Directors governs Camp Dickenson. The board comprises clergy and laypersons representing the New River District of the Holston Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. The board provides support and leadership to the camp in the areas of Development, Facilities, Finance, Personnel, and Programs.
